Yes We Can Nebraska is a political action committee that has organized to harness and nurture the movement for change that is washing across the country and focus it into becoming a force for real and lasting progress in Nebraska, in this election cycle and beyond.You can trace the foundations of the group back all the way to the day after Barack Obama announced he was running for President. I drove out to see him speak in Ames, IA and drove home very much FIRED UP and READY TO GO! Soon thereafter I joined my.barackobama.com, started a group called ‘Omaha Metro Area for Obama’ and set up a meeting. Our first meeting was an astounding success, filling up most of the main room of Caffeine Dreams coffee shop, our unofficial home for the first few meetings.Between then and now we have accomplished some pretty amazing things… made numerous freshman mistakes, helped bring about a LANDSLIDE victory for Barack Obama here in Nebraska and, according to a recent poll, we have a real shot at winning parts of Nebraska in the general election with Barack Obama at the top of the ticket.This will not be easy… our opponents here are many, they have more money and they haven’t lost here for some time.
